Phil Lord And Christopher Miller Says The Flash Was Not A Multiversal Story

At the time, not much was known about Phil Lord and Chris Miller‘s version of The Flash. And after their success with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Christina Hodson, who created Birds of Prey, joining to script the movie, their involvement was quickly forgotten. While the duo kept quiet about their endeavor, they did admit that they have a time travel narrative in mind. It appeared to be more gastronomic than multiversal, though.

It did involve time travel, but it was not a multiversal story. So I think it is safe to say that this is its own unique thing,” says Miller, who has not seen the new Flash. “There are definitely some things that were in the trailers that I’ve seen that were similar to things that are in our treatment, but I’m certain that, from what I know now of the story, it seems quite different from what we had.”

A lot of our treatment was about how much food he had to consume,” Lord added.

The Flash is directed by Andy Muschietti using a screenplay written by Christina Hodson. According to Writers Guild of America regulations, Lord and Miller are not given credit for The Flash; the screenplay is credited to Hodson, and the screen story is credited to Daley & Goldstein and Joby Harold.
