Tom Cruise is pretty much one of the most iconic actors in the history of Hollywood. He has made a name for himself most notably for starring in the hit franchise Mission: Impossible, but that’s not all he has done in his long and illustrious career. That said, we might just be getting a sequel to Edge of Tomorrow as Warner Bros bosses are more hopeful than ever about the project.
Tom Cruise is recognized for his eccentric personality, sense of humor, and overall upstanding reputation. However, his affiliation with Scientology is viewed by some as evidence of absurdity. Despite this, many of his fans have come to accept and overlook this aspect of his personal life, especially as there is nothing to be done about the same.
Tom Cruises’s Edge Of Tomorrow 2 Is Inching Closer To Becoming A Thing
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Cruise remains a prominent international movie star, and industry insiders believe he has another decade or two as a leading figure in the film industry. Despite his age, Cruise seems determined to continue taking on physically demanding roles.
“He’s probably got another 10 or 20 years, maybe not hanging off buildings, but as a movie star.”
While his new deal with Warner Bros. includes a greenlight for an unspecified project, sources suggest it could be a thriller or action movie, indicating Cruise’s interest in launching another major franchise.
There are also hopes of luring Cruise for a sequel to the 2014 film Edge of Tomorrow, which is already in development. Cruise’s writer Christopher McQuarrie said in 2014 that the actor had an idea for a prequel. Director Doug Liman also claimed that it would be better than the original. The new deal with Warner Bros., however, won’t result in any immediate projects, as Cruise is committed to working on the latest Mission: Impossible installment until May 2025.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the specifics of the deal, Warner Bros.’ aspirations to bring top-tier talent like Cruise align with the vision outlined by CEO David Zaslav, who aims to restore the studio to its historic glory. Nonetheless, Warner Bros. bosses are still hopeful for an Edge Of Tomorrow 2, so we’ll have to see if it will become a reality.
