Although the anime series has already had some moments that have played out much differently than they did in the manga’s versions of the events, it has still managed to gain a mindblowing rating of 9.1 on IMDb. This is because of the involvement of Tite Kubo, the creator of the popular series.

Creator Kubo believed that his involvement was necessary for the success of the series. His opinions regarding the comedy scenes and other major plot was duly considered by the animation studio. He said:

“The first step is to determine the overall flow and how much of each story will be included in each episode. It was at that stage of series composition. At that time, I also informed them of my requests. For example, I told them that they could cut comedy scenes as they seem fit. In an animation with sound, if the comedy is the same as the original work, it would destroy the atmosphere.”

“After that, we check the script for each episode and tell them, ‘I want this part to be like this,’ or ‘I want this scene to be included,’ etc as appropriate. I’m wondering if it’s okay to be so opinionated.”

He also explained how he put his foot down for a recent scene and wanted it to be exactly as written in the manga series. Kubo mentioned that Pierrot (Bleach‘s animation Studio) considered eliminating some of As Nodt’s lengthy statements about dread, which aided in not just depicting the villain’s current condition but also hinting at his history from a hospital bed, clinging to life. The creator of Bleach used the opportunity to ensure that the phrases remain in the anime version. As Nodt was one of the members of the Wandenreich, who fought against Byakuya and Rukia in the latest episode.
