The Marvel Cinematic Universe has an elaborate history of its actors handing out spoilers like candy, a rather nasty habit that seems to run in the very veins of those who are a part of the superhero franchise because it’s not just Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo. Even Brie Larson is afraid of sabotaging her forthcoming movie by inadvertently blurting things that she’s not supposed to.

Brie Larson is Having A Hard Time Being Quiet About The Marvels

As Nia DaCosta’s The Marvels gears up for its fall premiere, the film’s leading woman is bracing herself for keeping the spoiler talk to a minimum, which is to say, she’s trying her darnest (practically struggling) not to derail the movie by giving away any major plot details.

When asked at the TJH Superhero Car Show & Comic Con, whether she can divulge anything of importance pertaining to the superhero flick, Brie Larson joked that “it is a film” starring the people that the audience has “seen” and “talked about.” But really, she’s just having an awfully difficult time trying to be tight-lipped about her second outing as Carol Danvers, such is the pull of her excitement.

“I can’t keep these secrets any longer, people. We’ve got to get this movie out […] I would just hate to spoil any of it. You know, it would just be so wrong.”

The upcoming movie will see the Captain Marvel star join forces with Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau as the trio of heroines unite to embark on the last MCU adventure of this year.

Will Captain Marvel 2 Fall Prey to the Curse of MCU Spoilers?

Well, that depends mainly on Larson’s restraint, which if her reaction at the Comic-Con event is anything to go by, isn’t the most rigid.

There have been so many startling instances of Marvel actors unwittingly spoiling entire storylines prior to the film’s release – Mark Ruffalo gave away Infinity War’s ending during a press junket whereas Gwyneth Paltrow ended up ruining her own return to the 2018 movie through an Instagram story, and let’s not start with the amount of times Tom Holland has dropped the ball.

However, though a potential slip-up on the Fast X star’s part wouldn’t be anything new, it would certainly be a massive setback for Marvel given the magnitude of the upcoming sequel and how it’s also going to set the tone for the Multiversal Saga, with a possible connection (and a major one, at that) leading to 2026’s Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Needless to say, Captain Marvel 2 is going to be a major MCU vehicle with the potential to become one of the studio’s biggest projects. So, Larson better get a grip on her excitement.

The Marvels hits theatres on November 10, 2023.
