Glen Powell is already making an impact in Hollywood with his impeccable projects that well showcased his acting prowess. However, the actor is yet far from achieving one record that Ethan Hawke and Hitman director Richard Linklater will attain with the upcoming project that they’re set to collaborate on.

It is quite a great feat as the actor-director duo have already collaborated on numerous projects that even actor-director duo, Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese have yet to attain.
Ethan Hawke and Glen Powell’s Hitman director Richard Linklater Will Work on the 9th Project Together
Ethan Hawke and Richard Linklater have long been collaborating on projects that produced some of the most critically acclaimed films over the last three decades. From bringing innovative narratives to authentic character portrayals, their partnership has continued to expand the horizon of storytelling on the big screen cinema.
The duo is yet again set to bring another spectacular project as Deadline reports that Sony Pictures Classics has acquired worldwide rights to Linklater’s Blue Moon.

The movie is set to star Hawke, which will be his ninth collaboration with the director. Apart from the Moon Knight actor, the movie also stars Margaret Qualley, Bobby Cannavale, and Andrew Scott. The film director expressed that “Robert, Ethan, and I have been developing this story for over a decade and are excited and grateful that the time has come to bring this to life.”
The film production is set to commence in Dublin, Ireland this summer, with the project revolving around the final days of Lorenz Hart. However, this project marks a special feat for Hawke and Linklater as the duo has already worked on 8 projects together before this one.
Their previous collaboration includes Before Sunrise (1995) and its follow-ups, Before Sunset (2004), and Before Midnight(2013), Boyhood (2014), Waking Life (2001), The Newton Boys (1998), Tape (2001) and Last Flag Flying (2017). This is quite an impressive record that showcases their mutual respect and commitment to their projects.

Even Glen Powell has yet to attain a similar feat, leading him to rise to widespread acclaim with Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick and Sydney Sweeney’s Anyone But You. His on-screen charm and formidable acting skills have proved his skills in Hollywood. However, he’s far from achieving what the actor-director duo has finally done.
Powell has plenty of credit when it comes to movies, but he has only worked on a few projects with the Slacker director. The duo worked together for the first time in Fast Food Nation (2006), when the 35-year-old actor was just 15. He eventually got his big breakout in Linklater’s Everybody Wants Some!! (2016), before establishing his leading man status with Hitman (2023).
Even Hollywood’s heartthrob, Leonardo DiCaprio is unable to match with Hawke-Linklater duo as his collaboration credits with renowned director, Martin Scorsese includes Killers of the Flower Moon (2023), The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), Shutter Island (2010), The Departed (2006), The Aviator (2004) and Gangs of New York (2002).
Other actor-director duo includes Scorsese with Robert De Niro, Christopher Nolan and Cillian Murphy, Quentin Tarantino and Samuel L. Jackson, Steven Spielberg, and Tom Hanks among others. Their collaborations have not only garnered critical acclaim but also brought diverse projects, which only elevated the art of storytelling.
