Besides his high-profile controversies, Shia LaBeouf also came into the headlines due to some of his bizarre antics. The Fury actor generated a major fuss when he appeared wearing a paper bag on his head at the 2014 Berlin Film Festival. He has also been in the news for his arrests due to multiple cases of being drunk.
According to the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skull actor’s statements to Variety, many warned him to be more serious with his career- “People I respected just looked me in the eyes and said, ‘life’s too short for this sh-t.’ I’m still earning my way back.”
Shia LaBeouf also added that with a reputation like his, it would have been difficult to thrive in the industry if he was an actress. He was of the view that the women in Hollywood need more grace to stay in the industry. He took a dig at Mickey Rourke and claimed:
“It’s a double standard, for sure. Women require grace for longevity. I don’t think men require grace. You can be Mickey Rourke.”
Mickey Rourke was also subjected to headlines due to several reasons. He was subjected to wide discussions over his changed face or more precisely the classic Hollywood case of “plastic surgery gone wrong”. The actor who played Whiplash in Iron Man 2 himself admitted to his failed plastic surgery that ruined his reputation as one of the most good-looking men in Hollywood.
Shia LaBeouf and Mickey Rourke- both have their names embroiled in controversies
In the case of Mickey Rourke, there is more to his story than the failed case of plastic surgery. He has been alleged to have some weird demands for his role in Iron Man 2. Often, several of his statements have been subjected to headlines due to their controversial nature. The fans didn’t take him lightly when he called Tom Cruise “irrelevant” in the recent past.
On the other hand, Shia LaBeouf has been subjected to more serious controversies after he was accused of s*xual assault by several women. It mainly started after his ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs called him out for physical and s*xual abuse. Many women came to her support and raised their voices against the 37-year-old.
Earlier, the Constantine actor has also been accused of plagiarism and other issues of misconduct. His multiple cases of being drunk are also not unknown to many.
