In an early interview, the Transformers actor stated that the industry is more merciful with its actors than its actresses. In this particular interview, he also took a dig at Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man 2 costar Micky Rourke who also had his fair share of controversial stories in Hollywood.

The Fury actor generated a major fuss when he appeared wearing a paper bag on his head at the 2014 Berlin Film Festival. He has also been in the news for his arrests due to multiple cases of being drunk. 

According to the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skull actor’s statements to Variety, many warned him to be more serious with his career- “People I respected just looked me in the eyes and said, ‘life’s too short for this sh-t.’ I’m still earning my way back.”

Shia LaBeouf also added that with a reputation like his, it would have been difficult to thrive in the industry if he was an actress. He was of the view that the women in Hollywood need more grace to stay in the industry. He took a dig at Mickey Rourke and claimed:

“It’s a double standard, for sure. Women require grace for longevity. I don’t think men require grace. You can be Mickey Rourke.”

Mickey Rourke was also subjected to headlines due to several reasons. He was subjected to wide discussions over his changed face or more precisely the classic Hollywood case of “plastic surgery gone wrong”. The actor who played Whiplash in Iron Man 2 himself admitted to his failed plastic surgery that ruined his reputation as one of the most good-looking men in Hollywood.

He also got his name in a controversy with actors Brad Pitt and Scott Eastwood on the sets of Fury. However, Pitt later called him one of the best actors he had worked with.
