Being as great as Quentin Tarantino, it’s bound to lead to a plethora of debates in the industry. While the debates are usually restricted to the audience, there are times when actors and directors also share their two cents about the same.

In a recent interview with Cahiers du Cinema Magazine (via Far Out Magazine), David Lynch talked about Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

“Tarantino’s film shows that things could have turned out differently. It’s a hell of a good revenge film. In a feel-good way.”

While Tarantino’s movie was set in a fictional universe, it still took inspiration from real-life events. Anyway, the movie’s ending is complicated as it allows Sharon Tate to survive rather than being murdered.

The twist at the end is probably the reason why Lynch called the film a good revenge story in a feel-good way. After all, in real life, Sharon Tate was brutally murdered which put a scar on Hollywood for years.

Quentin Tarantino has Better Revenge Movies than Once Upon A Time In Hollywood

Sure, the 2019 film was great, as it even led to Leonardo DiCaprio earning an Academy Award nomination for his portrayal of Rick Dalton. Moreover, the film’s story was great, but it pales in comparison to Tarantino’s work in films like Django Unchained and Kill Bill.

The two movies had a phenomenal plot based on exacting revenge. In fact, Quentin Tarantino even won the 2013 Oscar for Best Writing, Original Screenplay for Django Unchained.

Keeping that in mind, it was a surprise when David Lynch picked Once Upon A Time In Hollywood as his best revenge flick rather than other movies that we mentioned earlier.

But at the end of the day, every person is entitled to have their opinion. As for Tarantino, his final flick as a filmmaker, The Movie Critic, will be released in 2024. It will be a phenomenal end to a great career.
