This controversy reached new levels in 2018 when the Deadpool actor openly supported the movie Black Panther, which featured a predominantly Black cast. This brought the Boone Hall controversy back into the limelight, raising high levels of hypocrisy on the part of the actor.

Following this, Reynolds revealed in an interview with Fast Company that the duo held a second wedding ceremony to exchange their vows. He also added, “Years ago we got married again at home – but shame works in weird ways.” Future talking about the location, he said, “It’s a huge f**king mistake like that that will shut you down, or it reframes things and moves you into action.”
