The duo has collaborated on a number of Hollywood blockbusters over the years. But if the rumors of Clooney’s insecurities are to be believed, the actor is worried that Pitt’s screen persona might shadow him in the upcoming flick.

Source Reveals: George Clooney Feeling Insecure Due to Brad Pitt

George Clooney has earned several titles for his good looks in the past. The most notable being that he was People’s Sexiest Man Alive twice in the past. The first one was in 1997, and the second was in 2006 (via Business Insider). However, if recent rumors are to be believed, Clooney is becoming highly anxious, as aging is subtly altering his once flawless appearance.

These worries may have also stemmed from the fact that this might jeopardize his position as Hollywood’s most desirable actor. Not only that, but he’s also slightly worried that Brad Pitt‘s excellent looks could make him seem less desirable in comparison. This was fueled by an unnamed source who told Globe Magazine that:

Brad is only a few years younger than him, but he’s managed to turn back the clock by at least a decade and it’s a lot for George to have to compete with.

The insider went on to say that although Pitt (60) is only three years Clooney’s (63) junior, he has escaped the aging process and appears nearly ten years younger. Clooney’s nervousness stemmed only from this, since it’s a lot “to have to compete with.” Even if the “classic Clooney charm is still intact,” the actor is displaying other indications of aging.

The source stated, for example, that he is not a particularly tall guy and has started to somewhat shrink with age. It’s because of these factors that the actor is feeling nervous about appearing beside Brad Pitt on screen.

Both Brad Pitt and George Clooney would be reuniting on the big screen after a period of 16 years. The duo was last seen in the 2008 crime comedy Burn After Reading. It was reported in 2021 that both A-listers would be reuniting in a new project helmed by Spider-Man: No Way Home filmmaker Jon Watts.

The first trailer for the same was released on May 29, 2024, further marking that it would be a full-on action-packed movie. The story revolves around two men who are compelled to work together on an assignment that soon turns into something far riskier than they could have ever imagined. According to Sony Pictures, the official plot is as follows:

George Clooney and Brad Pitt reunite for the action comedy WOLFS. Clooney plays a professional fixer hired to cover up a high-profile crime. But when a second fixer (Pitt) shows up and the two “lone wolves” are forced to work together, they find their night spiraling out of control in ways that neither one of them expected.

It’s interesting to note that Apple TV+ won the movie’s rights following a protracted bidding war involving multiple studios. On the other hand, the theatrical release and distribution would be taken care of by Sony Pictures. The studios have collaborated on projects twice, the first being Ridley Scott’s 2023 blockbuster Napoleon.
