Throughout Breaking Bad, Skyler White has been a part of several controversial situations. It cannot be denied that some of her actions infuriated the fans of Walter White. However, her character faced some dire situations as well. Fans have agreed that in such a situation, any typical person would have behaved like Skyler.

Even though nobody denies that Skyler White was problematic, Walter White’s ego also got out of control as he grew further into the Heisenberg personality. She was a hypocrite at times. But she was also protective of her children and did not want them to accidentally get involved in the dangerous activities of their father.

A handful of fans often point out how a drug kingpin like Walter White is always loved by the fans while Skyler White is not forgiven for the most minor of her faults. Even the Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan agreed with The New Yorker that the Anna Gunn character did not deserve this. He was amazed at how Gus Fring was not as hated as Skyler.

“I realize in hindsight that the show was rigged, in the sense that the storytelling was solely through Walt’s eyes, even in scenes he wasn’t present for. Even Gus, his archenemy, didn’t suffer the animosity Skyler received. It’s a weird thing. I’m still thinking about it all these years later.”

Several Breaking Bad fans have also argued that Skyler was a victim as well. She had her share of suffering in a failed marriage with Walt and thereby could not be blamed completely for her actions.

Anna Gunn undoubtedly gave a commendable performance in Breaking Bad. Although her character made some mistakes, calling her the worst is a debatable take. In the end, she is also a victim of Walter White’s actions and has her equal share of misfortune like the rest of the characters.
