New Writer Joins MCU’s Deadpool 3
Deadline reported that Ryan Reynolds and Marvel Studios have brought in writer Zeb Wells on Deadpool 3. He will be joining Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese to pen the script of the movie. Wells has won an Emmy for Robot Chicken and has worked as a comic book writer for notable characters like the X-Men and Spider-Man. So he isn’t a newcomer to the world of Marvel. But that’s not all. He served as co-writer on She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Disney+ series, where he wrote episode 7 of the show, titled The Retreat.
Apart from this he is also involved with The Marvels film and will go on to serve as the Marvel Zombies series’ head writer. This has alarmed Marvel fans who think that Wells’ involvement will spell doom for the Deadpool franchise. After all, the She-Hulk show was widely panned for its VFX and writing. As for The Marvels, that film has already been delayed several times, with fans widely speculating that it’s because the movie is undergoing reshoots to fix plot and writing issues.
Recently, it was also announced that Marvel Studios is bringing in a new writer, Josh Friedman, to pen the script of their Fantastic Four film after the previous writers were fired. It sparked widespread rumors about the studio not knowing in which direction to take its characters. While many are skeptical about Zeb Wells due to his association with the She-Hulk show, those worries might be unfounded. After all, episode 7 is one of the highest-rated episodes of the show and is seen positively by the fanbase. Also, his Emmy award for Robot Chicken, a stop-motion animated series that was full of quirky humor and pop-culture references makes him the right person to write Deadpool 3. It remains to be seen if Wells can prove fans wrong and write a great script for the highly anticipated film.
