The Marvel studio recently released the second trailer for Thor 4, finally giving fans an idea of what Portman will be up to now. We are going to know whether she’s become worthy of wielding Mjolnir after her nine-year absence or not. It doesn’t mean that Jane will take over the Thor role for reasonable facts, her influence will be felt as she reunites with her ex-boyfriend in this new solo storyline.
Of course, both of them holding the same mantle doesn’t indicate that they’ll fight the exact way. Recently, the director shared more elements on how those dissimilarities will make each hero unique in their way.
Thor 4 Director Reveals How Natalie Portman’s Fighting Style Differs From Chris Hemsworth
In the latest news of Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi explained how Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman differ from each other in terms of fighting techniques. In an interview with Jane Foster’s Thor, Waititi talked about many Marvel fans who see Mighty Thor as incredibly cool.
“She’s right up there. I mean, everyone who’s read those comics would agree that Mighty Thor is incredibly cool.”
The director also mentioned the details of Portman’s fighting style, saying how hers has “a feeling of dance when she fights.” Of course, it’s not the same as the way Hemsworth’s original Thor, Waititi also described them as cool in their different ways.
“The fighting style is completely different to Thor’s style You’ve got to play to people’s strengths, and Natalie has obviously danced and done ballet and stuff. It’s got kind of a feeling of dance when she fights. It’s very precise and smooth. She’s cool in a different way from how Chris is. He uses raw strength.”
It only makes sense that Jane’s fighting style would be something new from what fans have seen with Chris Hemsworth, more of these varieties will be highlighted when Thor 4 is released. Even if the excitement is already building, fans are about to see what Portman’s new version of Jane Foster will do as she works through her new superpowers. On top of a complicated relationship with Mjolnir’s former welder and an emotional battle with cancer, it will make the story both from an action perspective and an emotional perspective.
Thor: Love and Thunder will be out in theatres on July 8.
