When it was announced that 3 Body Problem was all set to have its own live-action recreation, fans couldn’t contain their excitement. Many of them believe that it can very well be the next big thing out there, including numerous industry big wigs. Rian Johnson, one of the executive producers, is one of the big names who has backed the series to enthrall viewers for the next few years. But they would be wise to remember that things can still go very wrong for the franchise.
Fans are excited for the ‘next big thing’
When the first episode of 3 Body Problem was streamed on Netflix in March, fans couldn’t help but notice that the series was able to do justice to Liu Cixin’s novels. That is to be expected from the likes of David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, who, along with Alexander Woo, are at the helm of the series.
Benioff and Weiss know a thing or two about bringing to life an author’s vision, having been a part of the Games of Thrones set-up for a long time.
Executive producer, Rian Johnson, even took to Twitter to sound his approval.

3 Body Problem has started on the right foot
The first season of 3 Body Problem revolves around the first novel in Liu Cixin’s trilogy, giving the unversed fans a window into the world weaved by the 60-year-old. But for the faithful of the series, it was just a trip down memory lane.
The series has stayed true to the first novel in its debut season.

In spite of the blockbuster start, the helmers of the show would be wise to be a little wary of their success.
3 Body Problem has the potential to go wrong if not handled properly
The world of 3 Body Problem not only holds a lot of promise; it is brimming with details. Details that will be a menace for the team to execute.
I’m finishing the third book, and have watched advance screeners of the show. It’s extraordinarily well done but I have no idea how the hell they’ll tackle book 2, let alone the mind-boggling scope of book 3.

Moreover, the creators would be wise not to depart significantly from the books, a mistake that sounded the death knell for Game of Thrones’ Season 8. The fact that they have Cixin’s books to fall upon shall hold them in good stead to avoid the Game of Thrones fiasco. Only time will tell.
