In an interview with the Empire Magazine, Christopher Nolan expressed his gratitude towards his biographical drama. He said:
“I’ve just made a three-hour film about Robert Oppenheimer which is R-rated and half in black-and-white – and it made a billion dollars. Of course I think films are doing great. The crazy thing is that it’s literally the most successful film I’ve ever made. I’ve been doing this for 20 years and in the United Kingdom it’s my highest-grossing film.”
The fact is Nolan addressed it as “the most successful film” he has ever made. Obviously, it’s a billion-dollar motion picture that features a star-studded cast like Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, and Robert Downey Jr.
But it’s not his first film that broke many records. Nolan has experienced this before in The Dark Knight. The Batman flick broke many box-office records during its theatrical run, earning over $1 billion worldwide.
