Harrison Ford opens up on his struggles in Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts 

Blade Runner fame Harrison Ford is presently working with the Marvel Studios for their upcoming project Thunderbolts. The Hollywood Reporter shared that Ford spoke to Esquire about his experience playing General Thaddeus Ross aka Thunderbolt. He opened up on the tough work schedule and hard work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ford shared,

“There are tough days and easy days and fun days and all kinds of days. It’s a tough schedule and, yeah, it’s fun. But it’s not a walk in the park. It’s not fun fun. It’s work.”

As per reports, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige had the idea of giving the role of General Ross to Harrison Ford for the film, Captain America: New World Order. He said,

“[Ross is] the President of the United States in the film. And with Harrison, you think about Air Force One, and you think about some of his confrontations with the president in Clear and Present Danger. There’s a dynamic between President Ross and Sam Wilson. They have a history together, but in this film, we’ll be seeing the dynamic between Captain America and the President of the United States in a way that is just incredible.”

After the passing away of William Hurt, Marvel Studios has given the role of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross to the icon Harrison Ford.

The Call of the Wild fame has joined the project after the demise of actor William Hurt, who originally played the role in The Incredible Hulk. He reprised the part in the 2016 film Captain America: Civil War, where Ross was promoted to U.S. Secretary of State. Hurt continued to play the character in Avengers: Infinity WarAvengers: Endgame, and Black Widow. He passed away in 2022 at the age of 71.

The plot of the upcoming film has been a secret. The star cast includes Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov aka Taskmaster, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Wyatt Russell as John Walker aka U.S. Agent, O David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov aka Red Guardian and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. Sebastian Stan will reprise his role as Bucky Barnes or the Winter Soldier and is rumored to be making a cameo in Captain America: New World Order.

Thunderbolts will be available in theatres on July 26, 2024.
