The show follows Walter White a chemistry teacher who starts indulging in criminal activities after being diagnosed with stage three cancer. Released in 2008, the show ran for good five seasons and was concluded in 2013 following the release of the fifth and final season.
Five years after the airing of the show’s final episode, the cast of Breaking Bad reunited to celebrate the series’ 10th anniversary. Talking about the show, Jonathan Banks got emotional, and Cranston took the opportunity to break the tension with a joke that had the whole cast laughing.
Bryan Cranston’s Joke Lightens Up the Mood During Cast Reunion
The cast of the hit drama Breaking Bad reunited for the 10th anniversary of the show’s premiere in an Entertainment Weekly special. The cast shared their experience working on the show and talked about how successful it got over the years.
However, Jonathan Banks, who played the character of Mike Ehrmantraut in the series, broke down talking about the series finale. “Bob and I, it continues. It’s hitting a lottery,” he said before adding, “It is painful by the time you get to the end of this fu*cking couch.”
Banks, who also starred in the follow-up series of Breaking Bad – Better Call Saul, got emotional talking about the series. “I was walking around the lot going, ‘Where is everybody? Aren’t they gonna come from around the corner,'” he said before stating that he might be getting so emotional because he did not have enough sleep.
However, Bryan Cranston was ready to lighten the mood by sharing his favorite scene from the series. “My favorite scene was killing Mike Ehrmantraut,” he said soon after Banks stated, “I love Mike.” The sudden confession of the 67-year-old actor had the whole cast burst into laughter.
Bryan Cranston Pays Tribute to Late Breaking Bad Co-Star
The 83-year-old American actor Mark Margolis, who starred in Breaking Bad as Hector Salamanca, passed away earlier this week on August 3rd, 2023. He passed away in Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City after a short illness.
He landed a Primetime Emmy nomination for his role in Breaking Bad and reprised the role of Hector Salamanca in its spin-off Better Call Saul. Following his passing, Bryan Cranston took to Instagram to pay tribute to his late co-star. “I am very saddened today to learn of a friend’s passing,” he mentioned on Instagram.
He further stated that Margolis was a “good actor and a lovely human being.” The Total Recall actor said that he was fun to work with and loved sharing good jokes with his co-stars. He finished the message, saying that he misses him, before thanking him for his friendship and his work.
