Iñaki Godoy plays Monkey D. Luffy, and Emily Rudd plays Nami in One Piece Live Action. They have formed an incredible chemistry within a short period. During one of the promotion videos hosted by Netflix Philippines, people could see their chemistry again. The duo, along with Taz Skylar and Jacob Romero, were reacting to Iñaki Godoy’s screen test for Luffy.

Iñaki Godoy was 17 years old when he auditioned for One Piece. He had a soul patch, and Jacob Romero said that it was like chocolate underneath his lips. Later, he corrected himself and said that it was ‘one piece’ of hair. The self-tape ended with a scene that was later shot in live-action. After that, Emily Rudd had the best reaction.

Emily Rudd said, “It’s so cute! It was exactly like the show. Oh my god.” Iñaki Godoy did say that he had done that in the anime. Even Jacob Romero couldn’t stop himself from praising Godoy.

What Scene Did Iñaki Godoy Choose For His Screen Test?

Having auditioned for Monkey D. Luffy, he chose to shoot his encounter with Pirate Hunter Zoro for self-tape. When Zoro surrendered to Captain Axe-Hand Morgan, he was tied and had to survive a week without food and water. Luffy asked him to join his crew. But Zoro refused, saying that he was a pirate hunter and wished to be the greatest swordsman in the world.

After that, Luffy untied him and entered a tunnel. He appeared again, told him to close the tunnel door, and thanked him. This particular scene of him getting into the tunnel and then out just to thank him made Emily Rudd so excited. The reason was that Iñaki Godoy did it again during the live-action shoot.

One Piece Live Action has been renewed for a second season by Netflix. People can stream season 1 on Netflix. It will be interesting to see how many bonding moments the real-life Strawhats have while shooting for season 2.
