The art is absolutely mesmerizing and the story happens to be one captivating enough to grip fans even after the memes faded eventually. The manga has since been gaining massive popularity to the point where the fans are getting impatient for a possible anime. However, it its inspiration that strikes a nerve for the DC enthusiasts more than anything else.

Hokazono Takeru Found Kagurabachi’s Inspiration Not in the DC Universe

Kagurabachi’s mangaka recently gave an interview with Asahi Shimbun, in which he revealed facts about himself and the manga. Some came as major shockers, such as the fact that he is only 24 years old. To have created such a massive manga like this at such an age makes his achievements seem greater than they already are.

“I always loved Marvel hero movies because they’re cool and exciting. Those first impressions have a strong impression on me. I’ve been exposed to Marvel and Naruto and some other works for so long.”

The author confirmed that there were many aspects in which he found inspiration, including but not limited to Keanu Reeves’ John Wick. On top of that, he confirmed that the Marvel Cinematic Universe was one of the biggest inspirations for him.

The impact those movies had on Hokazono Takeru was unbelievably inevitable. At the same time, another perspective here can be of how, unlike the MCU, the DCU failed to have any lasting effect on the author.

Kagurabachi’s Influence Takes on the World

Kagurabachi is one of the top mangas in the world at the moment. So much so that it managed to surpass One Piece, Naruto, and Dragon Ball, all in two volumes. Seeing the Western influence that made the manga into what it is today, there is no doubt that DC fans feel left out.

“It feels like I’ve been completely absorbed. I’ve never thought about what exactly makes them good. It’s like they’re in my blood and have become a part of who I am.”

Hokazono Takeru admitted that the MCU became a part of him in every which way. The way Kagurabachi has been going, there is no lack of understanding as to why its success is expected. Being able to surpass the biggest mangakas such as Eiichiro Oda and Masashi Kishimoto is no small feat.

He claimed that the franchise is so well fused with him that it is almost as if the superheroes are part of his own bloodstream.

Kagurabachi can be read on Viz Media.
