During her appearance on Late Show with David Letterman, Jennifer Lawrence recalled the time she visited her then-boyfriend in Namibia and came in close contact with a paranormal entity. She described how when the two had turned the lights off and gone to bed, the motion detectors in the house would go on all by itself and lights would turn on. Spooky!

“I’ve been haunted by a demon. When I was visiting my ex-boyfriend, Nick, in Namibia in Africa, we would like turn off all the lights and we turned the burglar alarm, you know, the motion detectors on and go up to bed and then it would go off, and the burglar alarm would go off. And then we both walked down the stairs and like a lamp would be on, or like, the oven door would be open. And then Nick would be like, ‘Oh well, I guess that’s it,’ and go back to bed and I was like, ‘Oh. Hell. No! No!’”

This would end up keeping Lawrence up for the whole night. However, she did add that anything that happened after that was probably a figment of her imagination. Well, we are no experts but isn’t this how all horror films begin?

While most of us don’t even experience one paranormal moment in our lives, Lawrence had the “privilege” of having multiple hair-raising (literally) moments in her life. While appearing on The Rewatchables podcast, the Passengers actress recalled another incident when she experienced paranormal activity around her.

She talked about how she went to stay at the Urban Hotel and learned about the hotel’s very own ghost, Fe. Curiosity got the better of Lawrence who decided to stay on the floor where people spotted the alleged ghost. While in her room, the lights suddenly turned on and the hair on Lawrence’s arm stood up. When later she told the story to her producer, she wrote it off as a hallucination from being too tired. The producer then decided to spend the night with Lawrence in her room.

While they were in bed, the door to the bedroom which was tightly shut, opened up on its own and the producer’s eyes almost came out of the sockets. Lawrence stated, “I was like, ‘did you see that?’ and she was like, ‘Yeah, yeah okay, I saw that.”

Honestly, we don’t know what we would have done if we were in this situation. Have you ever had a paranormal experience worth losing sleep over?
