Kevin James is an extremely well-known and respected actor as well as a comedian. Though he has made a name for himself through his work in The King of Queens, he has starred in many other massively successful projects like the Paul Blart: Mall Cop film series, The Grown Up film series, Zookeeper, and Hitch. Through projects like this, he has established himself as one of the most skilled and hilarious individuals in the film industry.
It is quite a common phenomenon in Hollywood for actors to leave projects in their early stages because of behind-the-scenes complications, be it having a busy schedule, or not getting along with their co-stars. What is quite unheard of, however, is for them to get fired from projects because of their co-stars. This was the case for James’s co-star in Kevin Can Wait.
Kevin James Invited His Past Co-star On His New Project
Kevin James worked alongside Leah Remini, best known for her work in projects like Phineas and Ferb, Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath, and Saved by the Bell, on their hit sitcom, The King of Queens, where they played on-screen love interests. The two shared extremely authentic, and rare chemistry that made fans fall in love with their characters even more, and get deeply invested in their relationship. This also made them extremely upset when the series ended in 2007.
It isn’t rare in Hollywood for actors who have good chemistry with each other to star in other projects together. This was the case here as the two reunited when James started working on his new series Kevin Can Wait. In this, Remini is featured as a guest star.

Did Leah Remini Replace Erinn Hayes?
Oddly enough, however, Erinn Hayes ended up leaving the series after the end of its first season, not appearing again in the season that followed. The actress addressed this in a cryptically framed Tweet, where she talked about the rumors about her departure and confirmed them. She also added that she had a great time making this project and was really grateful to the fans.

What made this all the weirder was the fact that Leah Remini basically took Hayes’s place in the series and became Kevin James’s wife in wife in Kevin Can Wait. The reason for this was the fact that producers of the series believed that he had better chemistry with Remini compared to Hayes.
