After the win of Gwyneth Paltrow’s counter lawsuit against the retired optometrist, Dr. Sanderson fans took notice of the lawyer who made it happen. In a somewhat strange turn of events, journalists and regular fans of the Iron Man star have come out talking about her lawyer, often mentioning just how cute he looks.

In fact, they seem to find similarities between Egan and Clark Kent, aka, Superman’s looks. Although the actress hasn’t commented whatsoever on this new internet fascination with her lawyer, Egan himself seems to find it a bit weird.

Gwyneth Paltrow was sued by Dr. Terry Sanderson in a civil suit back in 2019 regarding a ski accident. According to the retired optometrist, due to Paltrow crashing into him from behind on a beginner ski slope in 2016, he suffered immense physical and mental damage. However, in the recently concluded trial, the judge and jury presiding over the case found her not guilty and the doctor at 100% fault.

After Dr. Sanderson’s civil suit against her, the Oscar-winning actress filed a counter-lawsuit against him in the following month claiming that it was the doctor who collided with her from the back in the accident and was then trying to, “exploit her celebrity and wealth.” The doctor sued Paltrow for $3.1 million on grounds of the ski accident that resulted in a “permanent traumatic brain injury.” Additionally, suffering, emotional distress, pain, loss of enjoyment of life, four broken ribs, and disfigurement.

However, after her win where she was found not liable and Sanderson at 100 percent fault, earning her the requested $1 including her legal fees, Gwyneth Paltrow was seen whispering to the doctor before leaving the courtroom. After the conclusion of the case, the doctor spoke to the media, recounting Paltrow’s words, “I wish you well,” to which he replied, “Thank you, dear.” While he seems to think this was very kind of her and that she believes she was being truthful, he also mentioned, “…but I absolutely know I said I would not bring any falsehoods.”

Gwyneth Paltrow on the other hand, uploaded an Instagram story after the trial results writing that she felt acquiescing to a false claim would have compromised her integrity. She further added, “I am pleased with the outcome and I appreciate all of the hard work of Judge Holmberg and the jury, and thank them for their thoughtfulness in handling this case.” As a result, fans of Paltrow who were invested in the ongoing trial, seem to be rejoicing in her triumph and showing their appreciation for James Egan in their own way.

Well as Superman’s alter ego Clark Kent has always been a subject of fascination and fantasy it is no wonder that, Egan too, is being subjected to their avid appreciation in that way. Starting from famous fashion columnist Evan Ross Katz posting a photo of Egan from the courtroom on his Instagram account with the caption, “Gwyneth’s attorney James Egan? I think we should have that conversation.”

Many others, including journalist Katie Couric, also commented on the post, writing, “He’s cute.” However, the J. Reuben Clark Law School magna cum laude graduate seems somewhat less than pleased about his newfound internet fame. The internet can be overwhelming for anyone, and suddenly becoming nothing less than a kind of s*x symbol for millions at once is bound to take time to get used to.

Egan mentioned after the trial talking to Extra, “I have heard that, it’s weird.” He also added that he was on his way to, “see my 1-year-old son.” Elaborating that, “he had his birthday during the trial. I haven’t seen him, he just learned to walk.” However, the internet’s fascination with him has only soared after that, finding the new father’s concern over meeting his son cute.
