Can we see Brendan Fraser and Michelle Yeoh in The Mummy 4?

Brendan Fraser was asked in January if he would like to play his iconic role of Rick O’Connell once more in a possible The Mummy 4, and he would be more than happy to play the role, as Brendan Fraser says that he would never turn down from the fame and salary that he would receive when facing the undead Pharaoh. Here’s what the actor said:

“Gosh, I don’t know any juicy details about it. But it’s kind of an open-ended question for some time now. I’m not opposed to it. I don’t know an actor that doesn’t want a job. I don’t think I’ve been this famous and unsalaried at the same time in my professional life, so sign me up.”

In a recent episode of the Entertainment Weekly podcast, Brendan Fraser was asked about his time during The Mummy franchise, where he was ecstatic to talk about the franchise, and then he was asked if he would like to return to the franchise.

Brendan Fraser confirmed that he would like to return for The Mummy 4, and he would be glad to rework with Michelle Yeoh for another sequel. Here’s what Brendan Fraser said in the podcast:

“Sounds like fun. I’m always looking for a job. If anyone’s got the right conceit. I think I’ve never been as famous, and never been as unsalaried at the moment as I am right now. So spread the word.”

It would be amazing to see Brendan Fraser and Michelle Yeoh returning for The Mummy 4.

Will there be a fourth sequel for The Mummy franchise?

After the immense success of The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, there were plans for a fourth movie titled The Mummy: Rise of the Aztec. It was rumored that Antonio Banderas would be a part of the franchise where he will play the antagonist. However, the ideas for the fourth sequel were put in the bin when Universal Movies decided to reboot the series calling it the “Dark Universe concept” where Tom Cruise was in the lead role for The Mummy released in 2017. Sadly, the movie was a massive flop, the Dark Universe failed and it led to an invitation of new Mummy concepts.

Universal Pictures believe that the original Mummy series had a sense of nostalgia, and they are considering making a move on the classic series once the time is right. However, they have to plan the plot of the fourth movie and it should not have any plot holes or weak characters that could possibly ruin the franchise.

The Mummy 4 would be different from Tom Cruise’s Mummy and showcasing Brendan Fraser, and Michelle Yeoh would be a great first step for the sequel, but the writers must come up with a convincing explanation of how Michelle Yeoh’s character resurrected after she was killed in the third film.

The Mummy trilogy can be streamed on Netflix.
