Is Theron planning to get married soon? The public has often asked this question as the mother of two children has not been spotted with anyone since her split with actor Sean Penn. There was even a rumor of an engagement in 2014, but the ex-couple called it quits the following year.

Oscar-Winning Actress Charlize Theron Is Single, Happy, And Contented

Charlize Theron remains quiet about her private life and admits she is satisfied living with her children. She said on The Howard Stern Show in 2020:

I never wanted to get married. That’s never been something that’s important to me. On the lives of my children, I’ve never been lonely. I’ve never felt alone.”

With that said, the Mad Max: Fury Road actress debunked rumors of her engagement with Penn:

What? That’s not true. No, I did not ‘almost get married to Sean,’ that’s such bullshit. No, we dated, that was literally all we did. We dated. It was a relationship, for sure. We were definitely exclusive, but it was for barely a year. We never moved in. I was never going to marry him.”

In her interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, Theron revealed why she has not been dating since her breakup:

I’ve been on a few dates, but I haven’t dated anybody for over five years. I feel like I’m in a place in my life where you gotta come with a lot of game. Not the kind of game that we think of. The kind of game that’s like: ‘My life is really good, so you better be able to bring that and maybe better,’ because I just won’t accept anything less.”

While Theron admits she likes meeting people, the actress shared she is more focused on her life, career, and children. She finds it difficult to create another space for someone in her life with her hectic work schedule. If she were to date someone again, Theron admitted they would have to move and settle somewhere.

Becoming a mother has drastically changed the Atomic Blonde actress. She opened up about her childhood and shared why she is not rushing to get into relationships:

I think that’s the other reason why I’m not so eager to jump into a relationship. I am so proud of the fact that my kids live in a home where they feel like they’re safe, and they feel like they’re never gonna have to walk on eggshells, and they’re never gonna have to come down and worry about how their day is gonna go. I don’t want any of that, because that’s how I was raised, and it leaves marks on you for sure.”

Despite her busy career, Charlize Theron prioritizes being a parent, which she calls “of high demand.” The actress recently starred in Fast X, now showing in theaters. She is also set to reprise her role in Gina Prince-Bythewood’s Old Guard sequel, which is expected to premiere on Netflix this year.
