During an interview with Collider conducted before the WGA strike, the cast of the Netflix live-action series discussed their favorite anime.

While her co-star Iñaki Godoy mentioned that he didn’t watch much anime before working on One Piece, Emily Rudd who plays Nami in the series, (enthusiastically) shared her love for anime:

Godoy: “I thought it was so good. So I think I’m going to stick with ‘Demon Slayer’ and ‘One Piece’ for awhile. I think that is going to take some time.”

Rudd: “You should also try ‘Attack on Titan’.”

Godoy: “’Attack on Titan’ is good I’ve heard.”

Rudd: “Or ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’, if you like ‘Demon Slayer’ you would also like ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’.”

Then when the host asked the actress who played Nami about her favorites, she responded quickly, without mentioning One Piece:

Rudd: “My favorite anime is called ‘Made in Abyss’, but I love ‘Demon Slayer’, ‘JJK’, ‘Tokyo Ghoul’. I’ve watched too many to name them all.”

Host: “I feel like those are mandatory right? ”

Rudd: “Absolutely, yeah, I’m naming the basics. Like, if you want to learn, you get into them. But yeah, ‘Made in Abyss’ I would say is my top.”

She promptly listed some of her favorites, including Made in Abyss, Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Tokyo Ghoul, among others. She mentioned that she had watched many anime shows, but Made in Abyss is her top pick.
