After years of failing to make it big in the American film industry, Jackie Chan finally got his eventual breakthrough after starring in 1998’s Rush Hour, which spawned two more sequels in the coming years. But among all the things that made the Rush Hour movies work, the chemistry that Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker shared onscreen was the most prominent, as it didn’t fail to leave the audience giggling.

Although it has been a while since the two last shared the silver screen, Tucker remains great friends with the Hong Kong legend, and after visiting his friend in China, he was left astonished by Chan’s riches.

Chris Tucker was amazed by Jackie Chan’s riches

Being friends with the most famous person in China came in handy when Chris Tucker decided to take his son to China. The Friday star explained that during his stay in China, Jackie Chan took care of him and his son, giving them a great time. Tucker further recalled being in complete awe after witnessing Chan’s stardom and how many hotels he owned, which is reasonable considering Jackie Chan is one of the richest actors of our time. He said,

“My son is studying Mandarin in High School, So he wanted to go to China and I couldn’t back out. He said ‘You know Jackie Chan Daddy we got to go.’ So we went there, Jackie took care of us. We went to a different restaurant every night. He’s the man, Jackie owned everything. He’s like, ‘You like hotel? He said You like hotel?’ I said yeah, ‘It’s my hotel that’s my hotel.’ So I got to do more movies.”

It seems their real-life bond doesn’t differ much from their movies, and after the Hong Kong legend finally gave an update regarding Rush Hour 4, fans are optimistic about witnessing the two reuniting again.

Although no official details about the fourth film exist apart from Chan’s tease last December, the Air actor did go on to share his viewpoint on potentially joining forces with Jackie Chan one more time. Reflecting on his upcoming slate of projects, Tucker explained.
