Will Smith and Jada Smith’s relationship has been the talk of the town for quite some time now. The two halves of the couple have been very open about their marriage, making it easier for people to gossip and have varying opinions on their relationship. A fan-favorite topic when it comes to the pair is their having an open marriage, which was confirmed by Will Smith.
Now, while a lot of people have a lot of things to say about the couple’s unconventional ways, Jada Smith and Will Smith couldn’t care less. They know what works for their marriage and what doesn’t. Jada Smith herself stated once that she doesn’t mind when her husband finds other women attractive. Although this might be a bit of a dealbreaker for a lot of couples, things just work differently at the Smith household!
Jada Smith Is Okay With Will Smith Finding Others Attractive
In a 2015 interview with Howard Stern, Jada Smith stated that it wasn’t “realistic” for men to not find women, outside of their relationship, attractive. She added that if men find someone else attractive, it does not mean that they love their partners any less. According to Smith, all of this is a basic human tendency.
When asked by Stern if she felt hurt when magazines mentioned Will Smith’s name with other women, she stated,
“You know what, Howard? Here’s what’s real. I’m not the kind of woman that believes that a man’s not gonna be attracted to other women…It’s just not realistic. And just because your man is attracted to another woman doesn’t mean he doesn’t love you. And it doesn’t mean he’s gonna act on it. If your man can’t really see another woman’s beauty, how the hell is he gonna see yours?…You have to got to be human and be who you are.”
Usually, finding someone else attractive other than your significant other is a huge topic of discussion. Sometimes, things can get so ugly that calling it quits is the only thing left to do. However, when it comes to the Smiths, this is absolutely normal. To each their own, right?
Jada Smith has Given Will Smith Complete Freedom
In the same interview, Smith revealed that she does not believe in keeping an eye on her husband. She stated that she is not going to be anybody’s “watcher” and that she has truckloads of trust when it comes to her husband.
“Here’s the deal with that, Howard. You’ve got to trust who you’re with. And at the end of the day, I’m not here to be anybody’s watcher. I’m not his watcher. He’s a grown man. Here’s what I trust – I trust that the man that Will is, is the man of integrity. So, he’s got all the freedom in the world. As long as Will can look himself in the mirror and be okay, I’m good.”
Well, there you have it. As long as Smith can face himself in the mirror, everything will be A-okay in the Smith household. There’s no doubt about just how much trust she has in her husband!
