Being a pro wrestler in recent years might lead one to assume that it is this profession now that would make Logan Paul familiar with near-fatal concussions. However, it turns out he had an incredibly frightening experience in the past when he was just 12 years old. And the story of how he survived that accident is still beyond him. At the age of 12, Logan Paul endured a concussion that nearly cost him his life when he attempted to jump into a pool with a trampoline, in a typical 12-year-old kid fashion.
Logan Paul’s Scary Trampoline Mishap at Age 12
As an eighth-grader, Logan Paul made a risky decision. He attempted to leap from a small trampoline to a larger one, aiming to dive into a pool, and that is when he hit his head on its rim. To gather momentum, he sprinted at full speed. Thankfully, his brother, Jake Paul, quickly notified their father about the situation.
Recently, in an interview with Graham Bensinger for In Depth, Logan Paul and his family recounted the harrowing details of the incident. His father, Gregory Paul, revealed,
“Jake’s looking like he saw a ghost. Didn’t say a word. So I go sprint down there see Logan and he’s covered in leaves and dirt from his face hitting and rolling off.”
Despite enduring such a traumatic situation, Paul remained conscious while being rushed to the ER, a huge relief for his mother, who had feared the worst.
The fall resulted in a 7mm skull fracture for the pro wrestler and YouTuber, necessitating a “titanium plate about the size of a quarter” secured with five screws inserted into his head. Paul has since revealed that the fear of what could have occurred still haunts him at times.
How Logan Paul Bounced Back
It’s quite surprising to picture Jake Paul being interested in magic, but during his recovery phase, World of Warcraft and magic became his saving graces. These two seemingly unrelated hobbies played a pivotal role in helping him get back on track. He revealed in the interview,
“I’m obsessive; like when I find something I like, I dive in 100%. And since I couldn’t do anything, I was this 12-year-old vegetable kid who had all these dreams of becoming a professional athlete, and now I can’t do anything.”
He added,
“Laid in bed, I started playing World of Warcraft, and I started taking up magic. And these two hobbies became such an addiction for me; I spent thousands of dollars on magic trying to impress my friends. And then when I wasn’t doing magic, I’d be playing World of Warcraft.”
Now, reflecting on his past, Logan Paul expresses nothing but gratitude. He recognizes how these seemingly unconventional interests not only helped in his physical recovery but also kept him in a positive mindset.
