Pierce Brosnan felt humiliated by his role in this film

Pierce Brosnan has won numerous awards for his movies, including a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. He is also a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and is dedicated to raising awareness toward humanitarian issues. In spite of his achievements, Brosnan said that he was “humiliated” while he was working on a film.

He played Chiron the Centaur in the 2010 film Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. Chiron works as the activities director at Camp Half-Blood. He is an immortal centaur, the son of Kronos and the Oceanid Philyra, and a well-known trainer of Greek mythology’s heroes, including Jason and Achilles. In Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, Chiron posed as a teacher at Yancy Academy under the guise of Mr. Brunner.

He revealed how director Chris Columbus humiliated him

In an interview, Brosnan revealed how he felt humiliated upon knowing what the role of Dr. Brunner/ Chiron the Centaur in the 2010 film, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief entailed him doing. He also said that director Chris Columbus tricked him into playing the role. He said, 

“I play a teacher, Professor Brunner, who’s a paraplegic philosopher of the gods and then he goes into this ‘other’ world where he becomes this powerful horse’s a*s.”

“Christopher, he was a clever b****r – he sent me this script with a beautiful artist’s impression of me as Chiron, looking great and fantastic and brilliantly buffed and I thought ‘I’m good, this is splendid!’” “So, of course, I said ‘yes’ and then we came to the moment of glory and I’ve got good leather straps here and there and buckles and knives and a sword, but then I had to get into tights, so they could put the horse’s a*s on me.”

Brosnan said that he was initially excited about the role of Chiron, but his enthusiasm quickly waned when he learned that he would have to wear tights. Brosnan’s comments about his experience in Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief have been met with mixed reactions. Some people have sympathized with him, while others have criticized him for being unprofessional.
