Booster Gold? But Production Hasn’t Started Yet!
With the recent exceptional performance by iconic actor Glen Powell, it is only safe to assume that the actor could turn out to be a fine choice for DCU’s Booster Gold. Starring alongside Tom Cruise in Top Gun: Maverick, Powell found worldwide fame, following which, his career skyrocketed.
The actor starred alongside Sydney Sweeney in Anyone But You and is also slated to return to the screens with Twisters. All in all, his career is going well and if James Gunn wills it, Powell might just join the DCU as a new superhero.
It was back in 2023 that Booster Gold was announced. Being a hero from the future, Gold Booster was a show-off character who matured through some personal tragedies and is one of the good guys now in DC Comics. With rumors and allegations that the production of Booster Gold was underway, James Gunn was quick to take action by denying them.

Although we’re still working on Booster Gold, production isn’t imminent and that story/posting is completely false.
On any other day, fans of the DCU would be saddened by this news. However, we are here to tell you that this might actually be a good thing!
With a halted production, it probably means that James Gunn is looking for the right actor to portray the role of Booster Gold. That’s where beloved fan-favorite Glen Powell comes in and (hopefully) sweeps the role!

Fans have been casting Glen Powell in several roles ever since he found fame back in 2022. From Green Lantern to the new Captain American in the MCU, Powell has been all over the internet. However, as much as he is the people’s favorite, Powell selects his movies very carefully.
Alongside Powell, people also took Chris Pratt’s name as Booster Gold in the DCU. However, the actor has appeared in quite a few movies in recent years. The face of Glen Powell will be a fresher start for the DCU rather than Pratt’s, whose Marvel role is bound to be brought up as a comparison. With an intriguing storyline and an interesting set of characters, Booster Gold is going to be iconic (whenever it releases). As Mr. Gunn said it himself, the series hasn’t even begun production yet. so there’s a while to wait before we even get a release date.
