The Peacemaker TV Show currently under development at HBO Max will feature more than just John Cena. Director James Gunn, the one who proposed the idea of a Peacemaker TV Show to Warner Brothers, states that the show will feature other prominent characters from The Suicide Squad. The show will explore the origin story of Christopher Smith, a man who believes in protecting the peace at all costs. The Suicide Squad movie will be Cena’s debut into the DC Extended Universe. The TV Spin-off might be shaping up nicely considering James Gunn’s recent statement.

The fans of DC Comics riddled James Gunn with questions when he took to Twitter a while ago. The Director said it directly that he is not allowed to comment on any updates regarding the movie that will spoil the fun for the fans. When fans asked him about the timeline and the specifics of the upcoming peacemaker show, James Gunn said:

“It will be done.”

Gunn was referring to a question that centered around other The Suicide Squad members making an entry into the HBO Max project. The question particularly mentioned Pete Davidson’s Blackguard. From what Gunn’s reply was, it could be summarized that many other movie stars from The Suicide Squad might be making their presence felt in the show.

It was a few days ago that Gunn and HBO Max confirmed that an eight episode Peacemaker TV Series was in the works. The series will star John Cena as the lead and have James Gunn as an Executive Producer. The Suicide Squad Producer Peter Safran will also serve as Executive Producer for the series. Safran’s The Safran Company and Gunn’s Troll court Entertainment are joining forces with Warner Brothers Television for this spin-off project. Multiple episodes of the series will be directed by James Gunn him-self, including the very first episode.

Speculation is rife about how many other characters other than Black Guard will be coming in for the show. The timeline for the series is still vague. The show will most probably see a few characters coming together before they unite for the Task Force X team in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. There might be chances that characters other than the Peacemaker will have their origin stories explored within the show’s purview. If the timeline for the show is set after the events of the movie, then the ones that survive Starr’s onslaught will get to feature in the HBO Max DCEU project.

There might also be a possibility that the other characters of the second Suicide Squad movie in question will not team up with the Peacemaker. Instead they might end up becoming bitter rivals. We do not know the names of the characters making the cameos. Time will give us that answer.
