DCEU has been quite a mess lately, due to its business being restructured. Walter Hamda, former president of the DC studios has bid adieu already. Now James Gunn and Peter Safran will be taking on the lead to bring the new era of the franchise. During a special presentation, Gunn has already announced Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters in which the audience got to know about the DC projects coming in the future.

One important film in the announced slate has caught fans’ attention. Superman: Legacy will also be a part of the upcoming movies. As of now, no details about the project have been revealed other than the release date which is said to be July 11th, 2025.

Fans Might Not Get Peacemaker Season 2 Early

James Gunn is quite active these days on his Twitter Handle where he updates fans about DC projects. He even replies to fans’ doubts and questions, which never fails to become a headline. The DC’s co-head recently gave a disappointing update about the John Cena-led series named Peacemaker. He was asked by a fan on Twitter about when Peacemaker season two is happening. To which James Gunn replied saying, ” Yes after Superman”.

It’s now confirmed that a season 2 will be coming two years later as the Superman: Legacy is set to release in 2025. In previous interviews, Gunn mentioned that he will be involving some Peacemaker characters in other DC projects.

 “I am working very seriously on another DC project, where I’m very involved in the writing and the direction of it. There will be some blending of the characters from Peacemaker in the other shows I’m working on. And I’m involved with a couple of other [DC] things too.”

Now fans have to wait a little more to see John Cena back on screen. The details about the series are still under wraps. According to Samba Tv, the first season had a viewership of almost 638,000 in the initial four days.

James Gunn has already said his goodbyes to the Marvel franchise. The final piece of his work for Marvel named Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 will be released on May 5, 2023. This will be the final journey of the Guardians in the MCU. Their future still remains uncertain as to what other Marvel films they will star in next. Recently, Gunn opened up about his plans for the DCEU film, Superman: Legacy and he mentioned how it will be different from the GOTG films.

“I learned so much from making these [Guardians] movies,” said Gunn. “But it’s not like Superman is going to have exactly the same vibe as a Guardians movie. It’s actually quite different.”
