After Warner Bros. CEO took a firm stance at the management crisis at WB Discovery and decided to bring in James Gunn and Peter Safran as the new CEOs of DC Films, many loyal fans of DC Comics were sincerely hoping for the duo to untangle the mess that was the old DCEU. But what they couldn’t foresee was the absolute radical approach that they would take to bring the new era of DCU into existence.

Beginning their dismantling process by scrapping all the future films that were going into production or were in the pipeline to follow, to firing the current crop of acting talent from the projects such as Gal Gadot and Henry Cavill. But as loyal fans of the Superman star are with their extreme vocal backlash, it seems like Gunn has finally caved in to bring back the star into the new DCU in a different avatar.

Collectively believed to be one of the biggest upsets for the fans of the old DCEU fans was the exclusion of Henry Cavill into the new DCU that is being developed by new DC Films CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran. With the title of Superman stripped from Cavilll’s hands, it was something similar to stepping on a giant hill of ants, which came to bite Gunn in the form of severe backlash. Thus, a rumor now suggests that he may have reconsidered his decision and brought the star back.

In an article put out by CosmicBook, it was reported that a rumor was going around about how The Suicide Squad director was in talks with Cavill for playing a role other than Superman in the new DCU, which was also speculated to be related to Frankenstein from the proposed Creature Commandos animated series in the upcoming line of projects in the franchise. This is further substantiated by the fact that Jason Momoa has already confirmed his departure as Aquaman to play Lobo in the new DCU, which might suggest this is a similar instance.

Further, seeing that the animated series will be connected to the live-action series titled Waller, the voice actors who play the roles of the characters from the animated series will be the ones that will become those characters in the live-action series as well, meaning that we will physically see the Mission: Impossible star making his appearance as a new face in a new franchise in with a new character from DC Comics.

Along with the aforementioned Creature Commandos and Waller series currently under development at the new DC Films, James Gunn also gave an entire list of new projects that are currently under development. With the exception of The Batman and Joker being the ones remaining in the DC’s Elseworlds timeline, there will be a complete revamp of the main DC Timeline with many more new and exciting additions to the roster of new films, TV shows, and video games.
