Guardians of the Galaxy became the highest-grossing superhero film of 2014. Accompanied by some of the classic 60s and 70s songs, handpicked by James Gunn, the movie’s success led to the creation of two more volumes. And well, the second installment outgrossed the predecessor. Having said that, Marvel is concerned with its weekly projections of the upcoming installment.

Recent projections have worried Marvel as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is being predicted to become the lowest-grossing movie in the $1.6B Marvel Franchise. Fans are now comparing this with the low performance of Daredevil Season 3, suggesting that the huge break after the second installment made people lose interest.

Guardian Of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Is The Epic Conclusion For Franchise

Recent predictions reveal that James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which hits theatres next month, is going to “fall short during its domestic opening compared to its predecessor.” It is reported that “Marvel is worried about their internal tracking” for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Despite the hype, the weekly predictions have trended downward, and Gunn’s third installment in this franchise is predicted to be the lowest-performing Guardians movie ever. The Wrap reported that the third volume may hit somewhere between $125 to 130 million during the opening week.

James Gun previously stated that the third installment would be pretty emotional, shedding light on fan-favorite Rocket Raccoon’s backstory. But again, the recent predictions got the Guardians of the Galaxy fan worried as the movie hits theatres on 5 May 2023.

Fans Compare Third Installment With Daredevil Season 3’s Low Performance

When it comes to franchises, giving a huge break between movies is a risky deal. While it creates much hype following a blockbuster, people often end up losing interest. That’s what fans are presently saying about the predictions related to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which will be released after a gap of almost 8 years.

The low-performance prediction for the third installment is being compared to what happened with  Marvel’s Daredevil Season 3, which came after nearly dying at the end of 2017 as Matt Murdock did some soul-searching after Season 2.
