James Gunn also shared a post on Twitter, where he shared that he was honored to be part of the great legacy and teased the fans with a photo of the Superman: Legacy script cover page. In the tweet, he revealed that costumes designer, producers, and casting directors are recruited. It is interesting to know that all three recruits have one thing in common.
James Gunn has kept the fans updated on Superman: Legacy in all the steps so far. The movie was confirmed in January when the two heads of DC Universe revealed the first looks of the movie along with the announcement of movie and TV titles for the new DC Universe. Gunn revealed that Supergirl: World of Tomorrow and The Brave and the Bold (a Batman and Robin movie) is also in the making.
Talking about the pre-production of Superman: Legacy, Gunn revealed the names of some of the recruits. They include Casting Director – John Papsidera, Costume Designer- Judianna Makovsky, and producer – Charles Roven. There is a unique connection between the three recruits, as all three of them have worked together previously on The Suicide Squad, which was directed by James Gunn in 2021. There are also speculations about picking some core cast members from the movie.
The latest tweet by Home of DCU reads-

“I’m honored to be a part of the legacy. And what better day than #SupermanAnniversary Day to dive fully into early pre-production on #SupermanLegacy? Costumes, production design, and more are now up and running.”
According to the synopsis from Warner Bros., the movie will tell the story of Superman’s journey of connecting his Kryptonian heritage with his upbringing as Clark Kent from Smallville, Kansas. The character of Superman is a person who believes in truth, justice, and human kindness, which has become quite a rare sight in the present time.
Superman
The new Gunn movie is a reboot of Superman on the big screen with the introduction of a younger version of the hero. Hence, former star Henry Cavill will not be playing the lead. James Gunn has not yet made any announcement regarding the casting for Superman: Legacy.
In March, the director confirmed that he has not talked to any actor for the role of the new Superman. He dismissed the rumors of casting Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief fame Logan Lerman in a Twitter post, saying,
“Haven’t had a single talk with a single actor about the role. Just making private lists, prepping material for auditions.”
