The hype for Superman is astounding making fans absorb any update on the go but there are several other titles Gunn and DC co-CEO Peter Safran announced, Supergirl is one of them. Now, the movie has an interesting update.

The cast for Supergirl is already locked, House of The Dragon Star Milly Alcock joined the new DC League of Superheroes. Now, as per a Deadline exclusive report, Craig Gillespie is in talks to direct Supergirl.
Gillespie has a few notable credits to his credit including Cruella, Million Dollar Arm, and I, Tonya. Gunn and Safran have the full intention to exploit several characters for cinematic purposes in their tenure. Last year, Gunn said of the essence of Supergirl as he is set to bring the Angel in the Sky to the big screen.
“We see the difference between Superman who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents from the time he was an infant, versus Supergirl who was raised on a rock, a chip off Krypton, and watched everyone around her die and be killed in terrible ways for the first 14 years of her life, and then came to Earth when she was a young girl. She’s much more hardcore; she’s not exactly the Supergirl we’re used to seeing,” Gunn previously said (via Deadline).
Supergirl has been a long-time come-and-go project for DC. While a Supergirl project has been in hype prior to the official announcement, the movie did not see the green light until now.
Craig Gillespie Directed DC Star, Margot Robbie

Prior to her Barbie accolades and success, Margot Robbie made a prominent name in DC playing the titular villain, Harley Quinn. The Birds of Prey star also appeared in Gillespie’s 2017 sports comedy, I, Tonya. Robbie’s performance in the movie was hailed by fans and critics and perhaps it was one of her most underrated roles. Of course, she claimed an Oscar nomination, however, many fans firmly believed she deserved an Oscar win for playing American figure skater Tonya Harding. Also, the preparation for the role was never a cakewalk. “Anything truly spectacular is not me. Try as I might, I could never pretend to be a professional ice skater,” Robbie told Refinery29.
“I did like four or five months of training, five days a week, four hours a day. It was a lot. I’d skated like a handful of times growing up, but not really because I’m from the Gold Coast in Australia. There’s no ice! I can surf! But when I moved to America, I joined an ice hockey team…but it turns out ice hockey skates and figure skates are totally different, so I was face planting until I could really wrap my head around the topic. I quickly discovered that it was a brutal sport and incredibly difficult. I trained for ages and after a while, I started making progress and after a while, it became really fun, I really love it.”
The actor further revealed that she also faced some of the hardest scenes to shoot but she eventually rose above all odds. Certainly, Robbie’s I, Tonya based on the life and struggles of Harding would remain one of the greatest performances by the actor.
I, Tonya am streaming on Max.
