With a new month comes new titles being added to the PlayStation Plus lineup, and the next set added to the subscription looks solid. Less than a week remains in the year, and when January begins, PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to access and play the newly added titles almost right away.
January brings an interesting set of titles including Warframe: Syrinx Collection, which has an extensive pack of boosters, weapons, and other items. The PlayStation Store is also running a holiday season sale across titles and DLCs that goes until the 17th of January.
PS Plus Adds A Plague Tale: Requiem Next Month
First up is A Plague Tale: Requiem, the PlayStation 5 title that was released back in October of last year. The game was nominated for several categories at The Game Awards including the prestigious Game of the Year title. It’s a sequel to the 2019 title A Plague Tale: Innocence, which was a massive hit.
The sequel was given a rating of 9/10 in our review, with the game’s fantastic story, beautiful visuals, and attention to detail taking center stage along with a brilliant voice cast. The game follows Amicia and Hugo once again, just as it did in the first title.
This time the two siblings face another life-threatening disease spread by a flood of infected rats. Armed with a new set of weapons, tools, and superhuman powers, the siblings defy the odds to keep each other safe.
Evil West on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5
Evil West was also released late last year and is a third-person shooter. The developers brought a sense of the Wild West in the game that features zombies and monsters. The game was rated a 9/10 in our review, and the game is said to give players an experience that’s fun to play. The title provides gamers with a range of weapons from firearms to gauntlets and gadgets.
Players can team up with a friend or go solo against the monsters that include vampires and a plethora of weird beasts. And with constant upgrades the title is able to keep the levels fresh. The game lacks some basics like a jump button, but also gives gamers one less worry of not having to keep track of ammo, replacing it with a cooldown timer for weapons to recharge.
Nobody Saves the World
Staying with the theme of slaying monsters, Nobody Saves the World for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 sees players shape-shift themselves into a slug, a ghost, a dragon, and close to 15 other forms while completing quests. Players can mix and match abilities to decide the best way to defeat enemies the fastest.
The first hour or so might feel mediocre and only gets interesting once players unlock enough transformations and abilities. While co-op can be fun when playing this game, there’s a huge downside as the second player that’s not hosting will have no separate saved progress of their own.
The game’s progress is only saved for the player that’s hosting a session. The game also pauses for both if one of the players hits pause. Despite the shortcomings, the game is twice as fun while playing co-op and worth checking out even if players decide to go solo.
Warframe: Syrinx Collection
The Syrinx Collection in Warframe is an exclusive pack for PlayStation Plus and includes a bunch of additional weapons and bundles. Warframe is a free-to-play third-person shooter game by Digital Extremes that was released for PlayStation 5 over three years back. Players can team up with three others which suits new players and old-timers alike.
The Syrinx Collection includes these items:
- Syrinx Chest Plate
- Syrinx Shoulder Plates
- Syrinx Leg Plates
- Baza Rifle
- Cassowar Polearm
- Storm Color Palette
- Essential Base Damage Mod Bundle
- Essential Critical Damage Mod Bundle
- 2x Orokin Catalysts
- 170 Platinum
- 7-Day Affinity Booster
- 7-Day Credit Booster
The Syrinx pack can especially be a helpful boost for players who pick up the title for the first time. The base game must be downloaded and installed before attempting to download and access the exclusive pack.
December’s monthly games weren’t a bad collection either and players have until the 1st of January to claim them. This month’s games include LEGO 2X Drive, Powerwash Simulator, and Sable.
