Sony PlayStation announced the PS Plus inaugural lineup of games for January 2024 just before the new year and has now revealed the additional lineup of games that will join the PS Plus game catalog for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

The PlayStation Plus game catalog brings various titles every month to the subscription service. This month’s game also lineup offers a wide range of games headlined by Game of the Year 2019 nominated Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 and other exciting titles available from January 16.

Sony announced the PlayStation Plus catalog for January in a blog post, revealing that 14 titles will be added to the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers on Jan. 16, headlined by Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 Remake. A total of nine games will be added to the Extra and Premium tier of the subscription service and five Classics titles will be added to the PlayStation Premium tier.

RE2 Remake was released in 2019 and is the remake of the 1998 game of the same name. The game takes place after the events of the original Resident Evil title and players play as Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they look to escape the zombie-infested Raccoon City.

The remake features new puzzles, storylines, and areas for players to explore and enjoy. The remake received critical acclaim and is loved by players for its presentation, art design, and staying true to the original title. The game was nominated for the coveted Game of the Year award at 2019’s The Game Awards and also won the Golden Joystick Award for Game of the Year.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands – Next Level Edition is a spinoff title to 2K and Gearbox Software’s Borderlands series and received generally favorable reviews when it was launched back in 2022. Hardspace: Shipbreaker is a sci-fi simulation title and players play as a salvage worker operating a shipbreaking yard at Morrigan Station in high Earth orbit.

One of the most exciting additions to the catalog is LEGO City Undercover. The game has been appreciated for its open-world aspects and LEGO building mechanics. The players play as Chase McCain, a police officer who goes undercover to apprehend a criminal called Rex Fury and end his crime reign. There is a lot to explore in the game and it also features two-player co-op.

Nine games are also leaving the service when the above-mentioned games are added to the service on January 16 including co-op platformer title It Takes Two that Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2021 and popular title Devil May Cry V among others.

Sony also mentioned that select series from Crunchyroll will also be available for PlayStation Plus Premium and Deluxe members starting Jan. 15 but it will be limited to certain regions which are Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Ireland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland. However, more regions could also be added soon.
