Jennifer Coolidge impressed the audience with last year’s projects which means that her upcoming projects are going to get more advanced. She played Paulette’s role from Legally Blonde which is even considered among the funniest parts of the film.

Though she has not announced any future projects, we all know a third sequel to Legally Blonde is officially in development. But is it really in the process? With Coolidge totally in for the project, she opened up about the exclusive news she heard from her hairdresser. She shares the same hairdresser with Mindy Kaling who is working on the script as a co-writer.

“He says Mindy’s very excited,” she told GQ. “So it seems like it’s happening.”

However, Kaling’s involvement in the upcoming film might not be appreciated by the fans, and the major reason lies in the criticism she received from HBO’s Velma.

The Scooby-doo universe was all our soft spot which is why HBO Max’s original animated series, Velma was quite an anticipated project. But it only garnered negative attention which continued to disappoint fans. She is the executive producer of the massively criticized animated show who was also serving as the co-creator, and voice of titular character, Velma Dinkley.

Her writing has been the major issue in the project meanwhile her controversial past added much to the worries. Given that her mere involvement created quite a roar among the viewers, her involvement in the Legally Blonde franchise could possibly make things worse.

The 2001 film featuring Reese Witherspoon as Elle Woods was a moderate success that garnered $141 million worldwide. Due to its immense success, Legally Blonde 2 came to fruition that earned $125 million. The franchise continued to expand with a Broadway musical, a reality TV series. With the franchise still getting strong, another sequel is in development.

The project was originally announced to develop in 2018 however it continued to get delayed. Initially, 2001 film writers, Karen McCullah and Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith was assigned to co-write the project but the film went through several changes, including the writers with the filming still on hold.

Meanwhile, Velma is available on HBO Max.
