Jennifer Lawrence has made a name for herself by landing big franchise films. She has been the leading lady in Hunger Games, and her third film, Winter’s Bone got her an Academy Award nomination. Jennifer Lawrence then went to win an Oscar for her role in Silver Lining’s Playbook. Lawrence became the most sought-after actress and the highest grossing actress for a time being.

The actress was a part of X-Men she played Mystique, fans got to see the character in three movies after which the role was cut short as the actress was mostly done with it. She had gotten all kinds of awards including the highest one, Oscar.

Jennifer Lawrence appeared in three X-Men movies. The first one was X-Men: First Class, and the movie landed well with the audiences. It received great reviews from critics, with an 86% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The next one X-Men: Days of Future Past, which received a Rotten Tomato score of 90%, and brought in around $750 million at the box office. It was a huge success, opening up more opportunities for Lawrence.

However, the sequel X-Men: Apocalypse started a path of decline. Despite having more than $500 million in ticket sales, it received only 47% of favorable reviews. Dark Phoenix was a major failure after that. The $200 million budget was just about recovered, and it received a 22% Rotten Tomatoes rating. With the declining sales, Jennifer Lawrence’s performance was also on a decline. Fans pointed out that she looks tired, and her performance came across as fatigued and apathetic.

The actress confessed in a press event that the make-up and special effects for her character took a lot of effort; she would have to sit in a chair for hours every day which made it excessively exhausting. Jennifer Lawrence said that even though she loves superhero and franchise movies, she could not continue doing them as she is getting older.

Jennifer Lawrence might return to the MCU

The current chatter is the actress might return to the MCU. She is not completely against the idea of being in a big franchise movie, she however would like to get under the skin of another character. As her character demanded extreme amounts of make-up and paint on her whole body every day, she would like to steer clear of that.

With Marvel going into a new phase where there will be a lot of multiverse crisscrossing, especially with Amor Wars and Secret Invasion said to have major crossovers, this could be a great opportunity to bring Jennifer Lawrence on board. Recent sources have revealed that she might be wanting to return to MCU, just not as Mystique. She wants to play some other character.

With all the new movies happening, there are possibilities that she might make a cameo in Avengers: Secret Wars. Secret Wars is indeed a movie where all the heroes from the Multiverse come together, and we cannot deny the possibility of her being there. Even her X-Men co-actor Hugh Jackman, who plays Wolverine, is also returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Deadpool 3.
