It’s a Forrest Gump reunion on the sets of Robert Zemeckis‘ upcoming movie Here. While the director and Hanks have most recently worked together on Pinocchio, the movie will mark Wright and Hanks’ first collaboration since 1994’s Forrest Gump.
In the upcoming movie, the duo will go through a sophisticated de-aging process with the help of advanced AI and CGI to play characters across different age groups. Thus, allowing the actors to play a central role throughout the movie.
Here is adapted from a Richard McGuire graphic novel and explores several subjects like love, legacy, and loss through its multi-generational storyline. Actors like Paul Bettany and Yellowstone’s Kelly Reilly are also involved in the project. On the de-aging topic, Zemeckis (via Yahoo!) emphasized the need for the technology and added:
