Jessica Alba is an iconic actress known for several of her notable roles such as Sue Storm in the Fantastic Four franchise and Nancy in the Sin City franchise. Having such charming and femme fatale roles to her name, Alba has often caught the public eye.
In 2006, the actress was featured on the cover of Playboy Magazine (a decision made by Hugh Hefner, the founder of Playboy Magazine). Using her photo without her consent, Jessica Alba made Hugh Hefner accept defeat with a lawsuit on his hands!
When Jessica Alba Forced Hugh Hefner To Apologize
Being an iconic actress in the spotlight also has its disadvantages. With the eye of the world on the actors and actresses, it’s pretty hard not to be objectified by people. Jessica Alba had the worst of it when Playboy magazine named her among the top 25 Sexiest Celebrities.
With her photo on the cover of the magazine, Alba wouldn’t hear any more of it. The actress filed a lawsuit against Hugh Hefner for using her image without her consent. The actress further argued that the image that they had used was from a promotional shot of her 2005 movie Into the Blue. The actress further alleged that that particular image gave an appearance of a “nude or semi-nude pictorial.”
Jessica Alba, however, dropped the lawsuit after a while when she received an apology letter from the founder of Playboy Magazine Hugh Hefner. The American publisher also pledged to donate to Alba’s two charities as a form of apology.
When Jessica Alba Wanted To Quit Acting For Good
Starring in the role of Susan Storm in the 2007 movie Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Jessica Alba had quite a terrible time. Working with director Tim Story, the actress revealed to Hollywood.com that she wanted to quit acting for good.
“I wanted to stop acting. I hated it. I really hated it. I remember when I was dying in Silver Surfer. The director was like, ‘It looks too real. It looks too painful. Can you be prettier when you cry? Cry pretty, Jessica…’”
She further continued,
“And then it all got me thinking: Am I not good enough? Are my instincts and my emotions not good enough?… And so I just said, ‘F**k it. I don’t care about this business anymore.’”
Luckily for the world, the actress did not quit acting completely but did receed her work in Hollywood. Having been last seen in the 2023 TV series Honest Renovations, the actress is currently attached to two upcoming projects.
