Back in 2019, Justin Timberlake was spotted holding hands with Alisha Wainwright, his Palmer co-star, while at a bar. In some of the photos captured by The Sun, Timberlake could be seen holding hands with Wainwright, and in others, the actress’ hand was placed on her co-star’s knee. Sources told the publication that Timberlake appeared to be heavily drunk during the night out, and the two were seen “smiling and laughing” with each other.
Needless to say, this sparked quite a controversy everywhere as people started pointing fingers at Timberlake for being unfaithful to Jessica Biel. The Mirrors singer took to social media to apologize for his actions and give a much-needed clarification, but more on this later.
Coming to the present, Life & Style magazine gave an insight into the pair’s marriage. According to the publication, an exclusive source told them,
Jessica trusts him again and feels solid in their relationship. People can be skeptical, but Jessica’s confident he’s learned from his mistakes.
The publication writes that this update and clarification is regarding the slip-up by Timberlake in 2019.
Justin Timberlake Apologized for his Mistake
After things started getting ugly and rumors began sprouting about their marriage, Timberlake logged onto his Instagram to write out a lengthy apology for his actions. He stated that while he had “displayed a strong lapse in judgment” he assured his fans and his loved ones that “nothing happened” between him and Wainwright.
He stated (Via People),
A few weeks ago I displayed a strong lapse in judgment — but let me be clear — nothing happened between me and my costar. I drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior. I should have known better.
Timberlake then added that this was not the example he was trying to set for his son, Silas Randall Timberlake, and apologized to his wife and family.
This is not the example I want to set for my son. I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be.
After the debacle, a source close to the couple told People that while it was an unfortunate situation. Biel did not believe that Timberlake cheated on her and would continue to “stand by him.”
Fortunately for Timberlake, Biel was able to look past the situation, and thanks to that, their relationship is going stronger than ever. They welcomed their second child in 2021 and celebrated their tenth anniversary in 2022.
