Jim Carrey Expected to Become Friends With Conan O’Brien

His surprise appearance on Conan O’Brien’s show, CONAN gave Jim Carrey the opportunity to express his grievances with his long-time friend Jeff Daniels and the talk show host himself. He recalled how the two became good friends working on the 1994 film, yet he didn’t call him while visiting the town.

As the Dumb and Dumber stars continued talking about the movie, he shared that he also wanted to have a buddy-type relationship with the talk show host after he moved to the same neighborhood as him. But The Bruce Almighty star also claimed that he had not heard from him in a while.

The two discussed O’Brien’s occasional visits to Carrey’s house, who expected them to become good friends soon. “I figured we were gonna have a real buddy thing going on and stuff like that,” he recalled. However, all he saw was O’Brien’s distinctive hairstyle, “pompadour,” going back and forth over the fence, and claimed that the comedian never actually visited him.

The comedian in his defense said that they did hang out at the Hollywood actor’s house. The talk show host once again playfully dismissed Carrey’s hopes of a close friendship. “I don’t think so,” O’Brien said, jokingly stating that he was very busy after the actor asked him if he would like to become his friend. The two laughed it off and decided to plan something together soon.
