Jim Carrey Manifested His Birthday Speech

In a tweet from Historic Vids, actor Jim Carrey was seen speaking in an old interview and predicting what he was going to say once he reaches the golden age of 60. In 2022, the actor celebrated six decades of life and finally did what he was planning to do for twenty years. Check out the video below:

I’m 60 and sexy! And tonight, I’m having creamed corn and strained peaches.”

Carrey has been a fan-favorite comedian whose career spanned many decades, and despite his success in the industry, he chose to break away from it. The actor previously announced that he plans to retire, lead a quiet life, and focus on painting which he picked up as a hobby.

In 2018, he told The Hollywood Reporter the reason why he wanted to quit the spotlight:

I didn’t like what was happening, the corporations taking over and all that. And maybe it’s because I felt pulled toward a different type of creative outlet, and I really liked the control of painting — of not having a committee in the way telling me what the idea must be to appeal to a four-quadrant whatever.”

In the same year, he still returned for Showtime’s Kidding, though he assured fans that he was not back in the same way. In 2020, Carrey starred as Doctor Eggman in Sonic the Hedgehog. The franchise was a massive success, and with the tentative retirement of the actor, Paramount Pictures is not looking to recast his role.

Despite fans feeling delighted to see Jim Carrey return for the 2022 sequel of Sonic the Hedgehog, many were left confused and accused the actor of being a liar after he announced his retirement. The actor seemed entirely not certain about his decision, as per his interview with Access Hollywood:

It depends, if the angels bring some sort of script that’s written in gold ink that says to me that it’s gonna be really important for people to see, I might continue down the road, but I’m taking a break.”

So, at the moment, the In Living Color star is only taking his time off and might come back if there’s a project that would arrest his attention. In the meantime, he likes to delve into other hobbies.
