For six seasons, people watched Blake Lively as Serena van der Woodsen on Gossip Girl. Fans couldn’t picture the series without Lively after witnessing her portrayal of the character for so long. However, when Josh Schwartz said that Jennifer Lawrence was interested in playing Serena in Gossip Girl, many fans began to wonder if Lawrence could have done the character right. Schwartz revealed that the No Hard Feelings actress auditioned for the role of Serena when she was a teenager. During an interview, the 46-year-old screenwriter said,

“We did not realize this at the time, but Jennifer Lawrence really wanted to play Serena and auditioned. This story came to us secondhand, but we were told she definitely auditioned and was bummed to not get it.”

He further added,

“We can’t remember if we saw it or not. It was ten years ago, and she would’ve been how old, 15?”

Lawrence was reportedly very upset after she wasn’t selected to play the part. A fan wrote on Twitter, “JLaw dodged the bullet.”  In 2010, the 32-year-old actress got her big break with the movie Winter’s Bone. The actress played the role of Ree Dolly and received an Oscar nomination for it.
