Joe Rogan previously accused Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson of using steroids to achieve his massive physique. The podcaster also insisted that the former wrestler-turned-actor should come clean and admit his secret to the public.
Johnson rose to fame for his action-adventure movie roles, but he was already a famous figure back in his glory days as a WWE star. With his colossal build, there’s no wonder why many people would assume he’s onto something.
Joe Rogan Accused Dwayne Johnson Of Using Steroids
In a podcast episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, host Joe Rogan suspected actor Dwayne Johnson of using steroids. He stated:
“You know, when you see The Rock and he’s standing there with his shirt off with his shorts on, there’s not a man alive who doesn’t want to be built like that. They all want to be built like that. So if he’s telling you that he’s not doing anything to get that… I don’t know if he is telling people ‘I’ve never taken steroids in my life’ does he say that…”
His guest, Derek from More Plates More Dates, responded that The Rock has admitted in the past that he once tried it when he was part of a football league. He stated:
“He said in one instance that when he was 18, him and his friends took something, and it gave him gynecomastia, and then he never touched it again.”
Rogan insisted that The Rock should tell the truth and admit his steroid usage. He said via Independent:
“The Rock should come clean right now. I need to talk to you because The Rock’s been lying. There’s not a f—king chance in hell he’s clean. There’s a responsibility you have to people listening to you, and I think you have to be honest about it, which is why I’m honest about it. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with taking hormone replacement.”
Johnson did not immediately give further comments, but according to the fitness enthusiast, The Rock has strongly implied that he is clean.
Dwayne Johnson Admitted To Using Steroids In His Teenage Years
In his interview via MTV News, Dwayne Johnson admitted that he only used steroids when he was a teenager. The Rock was a defensive lineman for the University of Miami Hurricanes before he moved to the world of wrestling. The actor confessed:
“I tried it. Me and my buddies tried it back in the day when I was 18 or 19. Didn’t know what we were doing.”
The Rampage star reflected on the time it was acceptable for athletes to use the substance, but he also recognized that times have changed and there are consequences now. He continued:
“It’s not as prevalent today in our sports as it was 10 years ago. But we have to recognize that a culture was created where it was OK to do that, and a lot of team managers, owners, and players who didn’t do it would turn the other cheek. We recognize that, and now we have to institute stronger penalties, which we are doing.”
Finally, Johnson remarked that this issue can be used as an example for the younger generations to educate themselves on the use of steroids and its implications. He noted that nothing beats real hard work when it comes to achieving one’s goals:
“I also believe in education. It’s a bad example that you set for kids, and at the same time, it’s a good example for kids to follow, not in terms of the use, but in terms of the repercussions of what can happen because there is no replacement for hard work.”
Fans strongly believe that Johnson might be using steroids, but that did not affect how they perceived the actor as the public knows it is part of his job and it is his own choice.
