His range as an actor is already a testament to how skilled he is at the art of acting. However, the 54-year-old might have lost all that fame and integrity last year when the shocking Oscars incident happened. There has been a barrage of fans defending him online from criticism following the incident, and Joe Rogan is one unexpected voice of support that Smith has right now!

For Those Who Forgot What Will Smith Did At The 2022 Oscars

If you haven’t recalled yet, or maybe 2022 has been a fuzzy year for you- Will Smith got popular, and really popular, for all the wrong reasons.

During an eventful night at the 94th Academy Awards which saw movies like CODA and Dune bag several Oscars, host Chris Rock decided to meddle with one of the stars sitting in the front seat, Smith’s wife- Jada Pinkett Smith. The comedian made a joke out of the shaved head of the Red Table Talk host who has been suffering from alopecia areata, a condition that causes hair loss.

Will Smith upon hearing this was infuriatingly offended, he then walks up to Rock who is standing on the podium and slaps him hard enough to make the internet explode with memes recreating the controversial event.

However, the Hancock star later apologized to the organization and others for creating the scene as he had to accept the award for Best Actor. However, he omitted any form of apology to Chris Rock, causing further controversy about how such a cheerful personality could resort to violence.

It is simply a case of Smith acting in the heat of the moment, and it’s only understandable that he was angry because making fun of people with medical conditions, especially someone’s partner,  is not cool. However, he could’ve avoided being physical with the 57-year-old comedian.

During one of the recent episodes of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, the 55-year-old said that he feels Smith should be forgiven-

“Now thinking about [it], I’m like, that guy has to be forgiven. Like, he clearly has deep remorse for what he’s done and he’s also clearly living in a world where he was given nothing but adulation and praise for most of his life.”

“And then all of a sudden, he has this one, in many people’s eyes, unforgivable moment where he does something just so … stupid,”

Rogan continues, adding that Rock’s forgiveness would be quite important-

“He’s a human being. You just gotta forgive him, you know? And I think the real person who has to forgive him — if he wants to is Chris Rock.”

What do you think? Should Chris Rock put the incident to bed and forgive Will Smith- who is possibly one of the most influential actors of all time?
