Taylor Swift, who recently won her 14th Grammy and made history with four Album of the Year wins, is gearing up to release her 11th album, The Tortured Poets Department. The pop star shared the news at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards while accepting the award for the Best Pop Vocal Album for her 2022 album, Midnights. Soon after the announcement, she also revealed the album cover on social media platforms.
While fans are excited and eagerly awaiting the release of her next album, insiders have now claimed that Swift’s upcoming album might not bode well for her ex, Joe Alwyn, as the singer has a reputation for incorporating her past relationships into her songs.
Joe Alwyn is Allegedly “Bracing Himself” Ahead of Taylor Swift’s New Album
Taylor Swift has a reputation for drawing inspiration from her past relationships for her songs, with exes like Joe Jonas, Harry Styles, and John Mayer being subjects of her music. And insiders believe that the English actor Joe Alwyn would be no exception.
As the singer announced her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, insiders are now claiming that the English actor is “bracing himself for a lot of questions.” As per Life & Style, a source close to the Love Story singer has revealed that “no one is safe” and that “Joe should be worried about what she reveals.”
Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn were reportedly together for six years before they called it quits in 2023. After which the singer was linked with the sports star Travis Kelce. While neither Swift nor Alwyn have discussed their separation publicly, reports claimed that their “differences” led to their split.
Following their split, Swift released the Midnights vault track You’re Losing Me, which fans believed was about her and Alwyn’s split. With the release of her new album, fans are expecting to get some potential insights into her relationship and split with the Conversations with Friends star.
Joe Alwyn Has Reportedly No Plans to Respond to Any Claims
After Taylor Swift revealed the name of the upcoming film, The Tortured Poets Department, fans have been putting two and two together about the surprise album name. Swifties found a 6-year-old Soundcloud account where Alwyn read poetry along with an interview where he shared being part of a WhatsApp group chat called The Tortured Man Club.
However, despite everything, The Favourite actor reportedly has no plans to react to any of these claims. According to The Daily Mail, Alwyn has “no reason to believe yet that she is going to diss him or their relationship,” as the actor has not said anything about Swift “and has been completely respectful of her.”
However, the track list for The Tortured Poets Department has further assured fans that they would potentially get a sneak peek into Alwyn and Swift’s relationship with songs like ‘So Long, London,’ a city where they spent a significant amount of time together. The Tortured Poets Department will feature 16 songs, with the bonus track, The Manuscript, exclusively available on physical editions.
The Tortured Poets Department is set to be released on April 19, 2024.
