Helldivers 2 is one of the hottest live service games right now and the community is making the most of it despite the technical setbacks. Arrowhead Game Studios was recently nominated for a handful of awards and even the director was surprised.
It can be quite humbling to be nominated for an award. The studio was nominated for Best Technical Innovation and the director took a sarcastic jab at it knowing the game’s current state is not up to par.

Arrowhead Game Studios did a terrific job with the live service game but had its fair share of problems. Shams Jorjani is the boss of the gaming studio and apologized to the gaming community for the instability issues in Helldivers 2.
The latest patch broke more than it fixed and was an unfortunate hand to be dealt with. The irony is that the game was nominated for one area it struggles with and Pilestedt graciously accepted the nomination and also poked fun at the game’s issues.
Haha I know! 🤣 It's the recognition of the Galactic War and Game Master.

If it had been "technical stability" we would not win 😂
The gaming community was excited to see what the developers added with the latest patch, unfortunately, their excitement was greeted with disappointment. Various issues and glitches started to come out of the woodwork like stability issues and the game would crash in the middle of a match which is not ideal.
There is a strong likelihood that the developers are feeling pressure from fellow game developers. Despite all the problems and setbacks, Pilestedt never cracked under pressure and has been through worse problems in the past and will only come out stronger once the stability issue has been fixed.
Director Johan Pilestedt Is Both Technical and Reasonable When It Comes to Nominations
![The game director is confident that Helldivers 2 would likely lose if the award is about technical stability.](https://fwmedia.fandomwire.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/07114447/helldivers-2-automatons-1024x576.jpg)
While the many issues and bugs caused them grievance in the game, fans have supported the studio with giving it time to fix things. Pilestedt would have bowed out immediately if the award was for technical stability rather than the best technical innovation, like he stated.
For better or worse, Arrowhead Game Studios deserves the recognition. It is not easy to work in the game industry let alone one of the biggest live service games of the year. There is a high possibility that these nominations will bolster the studio’s confidence and motivate it to work even harder.
Granted, the game has seen better days but the studio has plenty more to offer and could fix any issue with time. Arrowhead Game Studios achieved something monumental with this project and the nominations are a testament to the studio’s capabilities.
