With a penchant for wrestling in the ring, Dwayne Johnson and John Cena both made their fortunes with the WWE. The Rock left the wrestling world to follow a passion for acting and Hollywood and Cena followed suit although not as strongly as Johnson.

According to WWE legend Rob Van Dam, John Cena would not be able to rival Johnson’s fortune. As per Van Dam, whatever The Rock did and made only went for him and the same technique would not work for any other wrestler other than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

John Cena Will Not Be Able To Rival Dwayne Johnson’s Fortune

Having started testing the waters of acting and Hollywood way back in 2001, Dwayne Johnson debuted in the Brendan Fraser movie The Mummy Returns. Although he had a rough start, the actor slowly improved dramatically and later on went on to become one of the biggest stars that Hollywood had ever seen.

John Cena was a little late to the party since he made his acting debut in 2006 with The Marine (which disappointed the audiences). Although both wrestlers found their way to fame, there is a massive difference between the popularity of John Cena and Dwayne Johnson in these times. According to WWE legend Rob Van Dam, Cena will allegedly not be able to rival The Rock in terms of fame and his wealthy fortune.

“I think he will have his own way, and I think he will do very well. He is already doing very well. I think Rock made his own path which probably only goes for The Rock. I knew John when he was still working at Gold’s Gym in Venice Beach. He would check me in when I came in to practice.”

He further continued,

“And to see him go where he was going, it was cool to see that. But also he stayed there [WWE] for a long time because he’s so good in the ring, in the office, everywhere.”

But why was the WWE legend suddenly comparing Dwayne Johnson and John Cena? Well, as per Cena’s cryptic Instagram posts, there is a minute possibility that he may portray…the role of Sandman in the MCU.

With the wrestler-turned-actor trying to get into further projects, Cena has got himself quite a number of opportunities. As per speculations and reports, the WWE wrestler is currently attached to 12 upcoming projects. Some of the absolute bests that the actor has got in his schedule are Fast X and Snafu.

With The Rock’s fortune reaching a whopping $820 million and John Cena having a fortune of $60 million (as per Sportskeeda), the two actors seem to have quite the difference in terms of wealth. John Cena will soon mark his return to theater screens as the character of Jakob Toretto in Fast X when it releases on 19th May in theaters across the U.S.
